Marine data repository for WAMSI and other projects

In mid 2006, the State Government committed $21m over five years to the establishment of the Western Australian Marine Science Institution (WAMSI). Data from WAMSI are organised into six (6) nodes and related to the following objectives: Implementation of Integrated Fisheries Management and Ecosystem Based Management of Fisheries; Marine Conservation Reserves (in particular through the Ningaloo Research Program) and Consequences and impacts of climate change. WAMSI2 was focussed on two (2) nodes: Kimberley Marine Research Program and Dredging Science Node. Details of the programs can be found here - https://www.wamsi.org.au/. Data includes video (.avi), photos (.jpeg), GIS shapefiles (.shp), text (.txt), NetCDF (.nc), spreadsheet (.csv / .xlsx) and other marine data types related to objectives.

WAMSI data was also stored at AIMS (Australian Institute of Marine Science) Data catalogue and CSIRO (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation) Data Access Portal. All metadata links detailing data are found at https://catalogue.data.wa.gov.au/organization/western-australian-marine-science-institution and https://catalogue.aodn.org.au/geonetwork/
